Associate (Interior Designer) Job Vacancy In 

Duties and Responsibilities:

To represent the company and emphasize its mission and values with peers, clients, the marketplace and staff
To generate new business and assist in securing future work
To take an ‘overseeing design’ role of projects and overall project management
To oversee and deliver multiple projects
To prepare, and develop with the team where required, technical drawings, renders, mood images, material & mood boards and other documents relating to the design
To lead the coordination of technical drawings and sub-consultants involved in the project
To be responsible for projects progress, monitoring cost control, programme deadline and quality of work
To coach, aid and support colleagues in design preparations based on a client’s brief
To help the formation of ideas and design concepts in conjunction with colleagues either in team groupings or as individuals
Assist the project designers in story booking at the beginning of concept design
To explore with teams and/or individuals their concepts and ideas in an effort to further promote and enhance the design and encourage a design sensibility
Provide support in design elements, drawing packages and drawing standard that follow the ideology of the company
To promptly bring to the attention of the director any matters related to projects which may be detrimental to the company

Administration:

To develop, influence and mentor the staff
To undertake annual reviews for the staff
To assist in the interviewing and selection process of new staff
Meet staff weekly for workflow meetings to give direction and outline the weeks work
Outline current projects and have designers report on progress on a weekly basis
Resource Projects as needed to provide adequate support to the staff
Provide man hours for project specific tasks if needed
Assist in the project resource sheets with the project designers and associate director

Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industry with a minimum of 3 years UAE experience and demonstrates the following skills:

To be fully conversant in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Photoshop and adobe InDesign
To be experienced within commercial. Experiance in hospitality and residential projects is a bonus.
To have a comprehensive understanding of the construction process, building regulations and legislation, and the roles and responsibilities of client, landlords, property agents, statutory authorities, and other members of the design and construction teams
To be able to prepare & communicate proposal documents in an appropriate manner
To be able to prepare written reports and communication in a clear and concise manner
To ensure that all documentation, drawings and correspondence follow templates, branding, and standards
To be capable of managing work load, and that of the team members efficiently
To be capable of managing a team, and to provide their team colleagues with the support required in terms of resourcing, advice, and coaching
To be neat and presentable at all times, and to behave in a professional and courteous manner
