AE7 Cairo is looking for a Lighting Design Engineer to work on international projects. Preferred candidates will have experience with projects of various sizes and scale.
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the head of lighting design and assist with the design development, visualization, and calculations of projects.
• Ability to work closely with others: head of lighting design, architects, interior designers, electrical engineers, landscape and façade designers, etc.) to help develop design options based on the client’s expectations and wishes.
• Work closely with the head of lighting design to understand the project and client requirement and to articulate this into a look, feel and define the lighting theme for the developments
• Ability to use lighting program design software. Complete knowledge, understanding and experience in lighting simulation software such as Dialux and AGI32
• Experience in designing smart lighting systems.
• Design within safety practices, cost effective solutions and energy performance
• Awareness of the latest insights, trends and creative influences in lighting design.
• Knowledge of design practices, regulations and products.
• Work closely with the head of lighting design to generate quality design options in a timely manner.
Qualities & skills required
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design or Electrical Engineering
• 4-6 years of experience as a lighting designer with either a design consultant or developer in the Middle East
• Excellent English (written and verbal) communication skills
• Excellent computer literacy and application skills in MS Outlook and MS Office applications
• Strong work ethic and ability to use own initiative
