artil is a digital magazine focused on dismantling structures in society and culture as well as challenging the mainstream status quo, which is often dominated by white, cis voices and experiences. We want to change that. “Inclusion” and “diversity” have become buzzwords in the past couple of years across many industries, but there seems to be quite the limit to who and what Western society, culture and mainstream media is actually interested in “including” in their quest to become “diverse”. At artil, we believe in true diversity, without westernizing or assimilating. We are a truly global publication, engaging, amplifying and listening to voices and perspectives from cultures across the globe.
As an editor, your main objective is to edit articles according to artil’s editorial style guide, values and mission.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
Provide feedback and editing suggestions on all articles assigned via Notion.
Ensure that the writer has a positive/constructive experience.
Join artil’s monthly editor’s meetings and in other ways take an active part in our internal community.
Please note that artil is currently a passion project and everyone works with the project on a volunteer basis. However, we have big ambitions for artil and are working towards our business model becoming monetized.
