This is a 6-month position, working with the Knowledge E Foundation to organise the Forum for Open Research in MENA. Bringing together leading international experts and key regional stakeholders, this event supports the advancement of Open Research across the Middle East and North Africa.

The role
Reporting to the Head of Publishing, you will work with a host of experts across all our divisions, to ensure the event is a success! Some of your responsibilities will include:
Organise and manage the delivery of a high-quality event
Establish and maintain effective relationships with high-level partners, speakers, internal/external stakeholders, clients, and vendors
Handling daily administrative tasks
Managing the Twitter account for the event
Supporting with event communications creation and distribution (including Mailchimp and Salesforce)
Liaising with marketing, finance, operations, consultancy, and publishing teams
Working with co-organisers, sponsors and supporting partners
Communicating with speakers and delegates (including librarians, researchers, government policy makers and higher-education institutions)
Preparing conference programmes and other collateral
Adhere to project scope and budget
You are
Punctual and reliable, able to work with minimal supervision and enjoy team collaborations. You are flexible and adaptable to work schedule and working hours.
Minimum job requirements
Event management experience
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Resourceful and self-starting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (advanced to native English)
Strong organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Adaptability and reliability
Cross-cultural competency
Competency with the Microsoft office suite, project management software tools, and database management
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university
