The Circuit, www.circuit.news, a new publication about Middle East business and culture with a focus on the emerging Gulf-Israel channel, is looking to hire an experienced financial reporter based in the UAE for a full-time position to help expand our regional scope and produce a daily newsletter. The candidate should be able to produce well-written, knowledgeable and unbiased coverage of business deals, financial developments and cultural events in markets across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. She or he MUST be able to write and speak native-level English. No exceptions. Working knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring and identifying top MENA business developments
Writing news and feature stories daily
Assembling and curating links to top stories in other publications
Building a network of top newsmakers in business and government for interviews and as sources
Writing profiles on MENA-focused start-ups, founders and investors
Pitching compelling story ideas to editors
Reporting on business, government and cultural events
Taking photos, video, audio recordings
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, political science or related field
Familiarity with business, politics and their interplay in Arab-Israeli ties
Excellent news writing skills in English
Native-level spoken English
Working knowledge of Arabic
Computer skills, experience in online publications
