Food Science/Chemical Engineering
We are searching for a suitable PhD candidate to work on a research project related to fractionation of camel milk through membrane separation technology. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Food Science and Chemical Engineering departments of UAEU and Food Process Engineering Group of Wageningen University & Research (WUR). This research project aims to develop novel membrane-based fractionation processes to efficiently isolate vital nutraceutical/techno-functional components from the camel milk. The majority of the work will be carried out at UAEU; however, if required, the PhD candidate should be willing to travel to WUR on short term basis. The candidate is expected to work independently in a laboratory condition and is expected to have good manuscript writing skills.
The candidate will be registered as a regular PhD (either Food Sci & Tech, or Chemical Engineering) at UAEU and must complete his/her graduation requirements alongside the completion of this research project (usually in 4 years). The deadline to apply for admission into PhD program is end of February 2023.
The key admission requirements are:
A master degree in Food/Chemical Engineering with at least 3.0/4.0 GPA.
IETLS core of 6.5 or above
Mathematical modeling skills and a prior experience of working with membrane separation technology would be highly appreciated
