Senior Cardiovascular Technician (Echo Cardiographer)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Senior Cardiovascular Technician (Echo Cardiographer), the one who can performs advanced cardiac diagnostic techniques including Cardiac Echocardiography, Cardiac Stress Echocardiography testing, Trans-oesophageal Echocardiography assistance, Contrast Echocardiocardiophy, Interprets and reports on various cardiac procedures.
Managerial:
· Actively involved in creating and maintaining improvement plans within the department.
· Performs administrative duties inclusive of inventory control, data collection and audit participation and analysis.
Technical:
Performs advanced echocardiograms in keeping with international gold standards of optimization and dataset protocols paediatric and adult populations inclusive of congenital abnormalities (where applicable).
Demonstrate an understanding or desire to learn advanced imaging techniques of 3D/4D and myocardial strain assessment.
Has thorough knowledge of different echocardiography protocols inclusive of stress, contrast and trans-oesophageal echocardiography. Demonstrates a full understanding of the necessary equipment requirements for each protocol.
Demonstrate competence in TEE probe sterilization and storage with appropriate documentation.
Demonstrate competence in storage, administration and indications for pharmacological agents within the cardiovascular lab – where applicable.
Maintain an accurate image and report vault in line with local and international guidelines.
Education & License Requirement
Bachelor degree in Cardiovascular program or Cardiovascular program (Minimum two (2) years course duration)
DOH/MOH/DHA license as Cardiovascular Technologist/Technician (Echo Cardiographer)
Registration with cardiovascular credentialing international , The American registry of diagnostic medical sonographers, UK registration council for clinical physiologists, the Canadian association of cardiopulmonary technologists or The Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology New Zealand or equivalent.
Current National License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
Experience Required:
Not less than 6 years relevant experience in Echocardiography.
